The maps below show a beachfront area in Australia in 1950 and today.
The pictures indicate the layout of an Australian beachfront space in 1950 and the current layout. Overall, the area has been modernized with the introduction of many tourism facilities over the period.
Starting with the plan in 1950, at the bottom was a giant beach which covered almost half of the area. To the right of the beach was a lighthouse. Two pools which were 25m in length were constructed symmetrically along the coast. On the top, an entertainment area, dining tables, a pavilion and a car park were built in order from left to right. Above them was a road, starting from the car park leading to the city.
Moving to the present layout, the beach and the lighthouse has remained unchanged. The pool on the left has been lengthened to 50m, and to the left of it a restaurant has been constructed. There has been the addition of two surf clubs, one just near each pool. Meanwhile on the top area, the playground has been converted into a car park while the other amenities were not altered. The road has been extended and now starts next to the lighthouse.
